Read the meditation slowly
I sit with the eyes gently open and become aware of the one who is looking through them.
I am the conscious self, the soul — subtle, living awareness located behind the eyes.
I imagine this self as a tiny point of light. The body is my instrument, but I am the one who thinks, chooses and experiences.
For a few moments I release the labels of age, profession, nationality and position. They describe my role, but not the deepest truth of who I am.
As soul-consciousness becomes clearer, I experience natural dignity. I do not need to become bigger than someone else in order to have value.
I turn toward the Supreme Soul, another point of conscious light beyond the physical world, and allow peace to flow into the mind.
I return to action remembering: I am a soul using this body to express peace, wisdom and kindness.
