Guided Raja Yoga meditation · BK Jayanti
Play Your Role Wisely
9 minWisdom in Action
A meditation for stepping back from confusion and remembering that life contains changing scenes and roles. Detachment is used here not as withdrawal, but as the ability to respond wisely rather than react automatically.

Read the meditation slowly
I relax the body and step mentally out of the immediate drama of the situation.
I am a soul playing many roles — family member, colleague, friend, student, teacher, neighbour. The roles change, but the inner observer remains.
I look at the present scene as though I were watching it from a little distance.
What is actually required from me here? What belongs to me, and what belongs to someone else's choices?
I release the need to control the entire scene. I focus on the quality of my own role.
I choose to play it with dignity, accuracy and good wishes. Detachment gives me the space to act with love rather than emotional pressure.
I return to the scene ready to do my part well and then let the next scene unfold.
