Read the meditation slowly
I begin with myself. Before trying to change another person, I notice the quality of thought I am carrying toward them.
I am a soul with my own history, strengths and weaknesses. The other person is also a soul, playing a different role and carrying a different story.
I release the demand that they must think exactly as I think. Acceptance does not mean approving every behaviour; it means seeing clearly without feeding hostility.
I remember one positive quality in this person, however small. I allow that quality to have space in my mind.
I also release the need to keep replaying old scenes. I can learn from the past without using it as a weapon in every new moment.
From self-respect I choose a peaceful intention: I will speak clearly, listen more deeply and protect the dignity of both of us.
I send a silent good wish: may there be understanding, strength and growth for both souls.
