Read the meditation slowly

This written reflection is an original companion practice prepared for Brahma Kumaris Philippines around the same theme. It is not a verbatim transcript of Sister Jayanti's recording.

I sit quietly and return to the awareness of myself as a soul.

I think of the deepest qualities of a truly benevolent mother: acceptance, patience, nourishment and the wish to see the child grow.

I turn toward the Supreme and allow myself to experience those qualities spiritually.

I do not have to compare myself with another soul in order to deserve love. Each soul has a unique journey and a unique role.

I allow the mind to receive a sense of safety and belonging.

From being spiritually nourished, I become more able to nourish others — not by controlling them, but by offering patience, respect and good wishes.

I return to the day with the feeling of being cared for and the intention to pass that care onward.
