Read the meditation slowly
I look gently at the places where I tell myself: I will be happy when this changes, when that person behaves differently, when I receive something I want.
For a moment I step out of those conditions and return to the soul.
I am a conscious being with the capacity to create my own thoughts. My happiness does not have to rise and fall with every external scene.
I remember the Supreme, the One whose qualities are constant rather than temporary. In that connection I absorb stability, truth and love.
I let go of one unnecessary comparison and one unnecessary expectation.
I create the thought: I can appreciate what is good now, while still working wisely for change.
This quieter happiness gives me strength rather than making me passive. I return to the day with gratitude and self-respect.
