What is Raja Yoga meditation?
Brahma Kumaris teaches Raja Yoga as an open-eyed form of meditation based on self-awareness and purposeful thought. Within Raja Yoga, the inner self is understood as the soul—the conscious being behind thoughts, feelings and choices. The practice encourages us to explore qualities such as peace, self-respect, compassion and inner strength, and to bring that awareness into everyday life.
You can approach these ideas gradually. Beginners are welcome to listen, reflect, practise and decide through their own experience what is useful. Read what Raja Yoga meditation is or begin with our learn to meditate guide.

Meditation for real life
Meditation does not have to remain separate from the rest of the day. A short pause before replying, a few peaceful thoughts before work, or a moment of awareness while travelling can become part of the practice. The aim is not perfection. It is to become a little more conscious of the thoughts and attitudes we carry into ordinary situations.
If your interest is a busy mind or demanding days, see meditation for peace of mind. This is presented as a wellbeing practice rather than a medical treatment.
